Americorps/Jobcorps

1. What are the benefits of Job Corps?
If you are accepted into the program, you will be assigned to a center that has everything you need to make the most of your training. There will be classrooms, offices, dormitories, a cafeteria, and recreational facilities. You also get medical/dental care, a living allowance every two weeks, cash bonuses and a relocation allowance to assist you when you begin employment.

2. What type of career training is there?
Most centers offer 10 to 20 career choices, including carpentry, health occupations, welding, computer science, heavy equipment operation, food service, and office skills.

3. Where would I be relocated to?
Your career interest and program availability will determine which Job Corps center you will attend. There are eleven Job Corps centers in the Pacific Northwest: Alaska (1) , Idaho (1), Oregon (5) and Washington (4). Transportation from Greyhound or Sea-Tac airport is provided as all centers are located in rural areas away from major cities.

4. What is the zero tolerance for violence policy?
To ensure the safety of all participants, students who participate in violent acts or use drugs will be removed from the program.
