2. Why can't people accept that I don't want to go to college?
If your friends and family have trouble accepting your decision, it is likely because they are concerned for your future. There is a lot of research showing that people tend to make more money and get more employment opportunities if they have a college degree. If you do not feel that college is right for you, you can tell others you want a different experience right now. It may not be as easy down the line to go back to school but you can always go to college later if you really want to. College students range in age from 17 to 70!

3. How can I get over the fear that if I attend college I will fail?
College can tend to make people afraid because you don't know what to expect. Will I do well? Will I be in over my head? What if everyone else is way smarter than me? Will I have any friends? The only way to find out if you'll like it is to try. Travel into the unknown instead of staying inside your safety area! If you are worried about failing your classes then start good studying habits and work with a tutor if necessary. You can also prepare yourself ahead of time by looking over an outline of the topics that will be covered in the course and studying them before your first day.
