Moving

1. How do I forward my mail?
You can go to any post office and pick up a Mover's Guide. Inside are postcards you can send to the post office and other places to let them know where you are moving to and when to start forwarding your mail there. You can also visit http://Moversguide.usps.com to let the post office know of your new address.

2. How can I prepare for the move?
Make a list of what you need to do and get at least a week before you move. Buy less groceries and try to eat more of the food already in your refrigerator and cupboards. For anything you don't use up, you'll either be carrying it to your new place or throwing it away. Pack at least one box at day so it won't seem so overwhelming when it gets close to moving day.

3. How can I find information about the community I'm moving to?
You can visit http://neighborhoodplace.com to find out demographic information about neighborhoods, including the average income level, total population and the crime rate. You may also be able to visit local community centers for information or look up the neighborhood on the Internet to see what kind of restaurants, parks and stores are nearby.
